Vivien and Travis' Wedding
Despite growing up in the same Albuquerque neighborhood, Vivien and Travis didn’t meet until adulthood during the summer of 2012. Viven was working at Walgreens, and Travis came through her checkout line. The rest was history, and 9 years later, they said “I do” at Leaping Deer Ranch.
When planning their wedding, choosing Leaping Deer Ranch as their venue was a natural choice. Travis and Vivien wanted a dog-friendly venue so that their dog, Bala, could join in the festivities.
They also wanted a venue with a laid back atmosphere. Colin, the Ranch’s owner, empowers couples to turn the ranch into exactly what they need for their wedding. While other venues impose restrictions, Leaping Deer Ranch offers a space for customization and DIY projects that many couples with a vision take advantage of.
Vivien and Travis hosted a small, intimate wedding with their closest family and friends. The ranch’s accommodations allowed the celebration to last all weekend – a mini-destination wedding where their entire guest list made lasting memories, relaxed, and enjoyed each other’s company in a remote and picturesque atmosphere. It was important to Vivien and Travis that they had space to relax and celebrate for the whole weekend, and a remote venue just outside of Santa Fe and Albuquerque was the perfect place to do just that.
The couple said “I do” under the arch in the backyard of the property. With lush New Mexico greenery and a wide open sky, it made the perfect backdrop for their ceremony. In fact, saying I do at the altar was their favorite part of the day.
Another highlight was the reception. Not only did the couple and their guests dance the night away in the breezy November weather, they also had a traditional Matanza, or pig roast. All 50 of the couple’s guests appreciated their amazing food and drink. The night was capped off with a mariachi band, officially cementing the couple’s fun, laid back wedding as one of the most lively in LDR history.
For couples like Vivien and Travis who want to plan lively, yet intimate, wedding celebration and offer their guests their own mini-getaway, Leaping Deer Ranch in north east New Mexico may just be the venue for you.
